The minimum contribution to establish a fund is $5,000. Some, however, are established with $10,000 or more, depending on their purpose. Whereas many donors are able to start their fund with the full contribution, other donors earmark their fund’s purpose first and fund it over time. Each individual or family with a Donor Restricted Fund is kept involved and informed of their fund’s activity and receives a semi-annual report detailing the fund’s income and expenditures. Donors who are able are encouraged to attend the events and programs sponsored by their fund. Many friends of Menorah Park establish funds in memory or in honor of a family member who currently lives, or has lived, at The R.H. Myers Apartments, Stone Gardens or Menorah Park or has utilized the services of one of its departments or services. Other funds are started by board members, volunteers and community members who appreciate the work carried out on the Menorah Park campus and want to help perpetuate that work.
